Exactly. Between my having a 2 for 2 trips where they have damaged my two cars, the people I see talking about their cars being damaged when I go to pick mine up, and the careless attitude of many members of their staff, it's incredibly frustrating. Given I'm not going to drive further to the next dealer which is another 20 miles from my house this needs to be sorted out or they need to buy us out of these cars.

If I keep getting damage like this, something's going to have to give. And complacent employees who are this unskilled should be kept at home as they obviously don't care enough to do their job properly.

I also just went to discount to have my tires balanced after the dealer also changed tires. One wheel wasn't balanced at all, one but was cross threaded, and the other three wheels counterbalanced. Laziness seems to be prevelant with their service department.

Hence the reason why I go to the best Lexus dealer in town and know the chief mechanic very well. I tell my advisor to have the chief mechanic do my alignment and tire/wheel road force balanced when needed as he knows me and my car and does the work as requested. If hes not available then he has his second top mechanic do the work. That way I avoid having the junior or new experienced workers doing big things on my Lexus.

The chief mechanic is who supposedly did this work. So it makes me wonder if this was really the case or they just told me this. I would use Sewell if they weren't so very far. Perhaps if it is a infrequent thing I will. But I'm also going to see tomorrow what I can arrange with the GM. Possibly meet the mechanics and work things out.

What is apparent is how poor quality the work that has been performed already actually was. Stating certain things during the PDI were done or just sloppy work and carelessness.

The underlying theme is be careful and attentive in your work while also knowing how to do your trade skill. I'm confident the GM will work with me. But whether my next service goes without hitch is another entirely. Hopefully the cars are hassle free and don't need to go in. I'll do my own ill changes and have tire matters handled by discount tire. Both save time and money. Plus potential headache.
