I was scratching my head on that too!

Thanks for the detailed pics! If you can think of things to look out for, please let us know. It's doesn't look hard, just methodical. I will take a lot of photos as I do mine to be sure I know how things go back

Who would do a "better" job with this install? Lexus dealership, or high end car audio/video shop?

I would expect the dealership to do a better job since they have all the books and info handy on the car

I wouldst mind the dealership doing it. I just hope they don't charge an arm and a leg.

They will charge what ever the Parts & Time guide would say it takes to do a R&R on the stalk.. not sure about the fog light install and wiring to the stalk though.

It might be worth getting a quote

I asked my dealership to do it. They said since it was not an option on the car they could not and would not do it. The parts department suggested a place to have it done.

High end audio shop, Def not Lexus dealership.

Yeah right, I asked my dealer it took my service guy about a week to figure out a way and then they came back to me and said excluding parts it would be around $1,200 I said yeah I'll get my guy to do it. I will say the dealership has no idea how to do this at all as this is not written anywhere, hence why I wouldn't give it to dealership even though they know the mechanics of the car.

I received my kit today. It came without the set of mounting screws that JoeZ said we need. Also, is there a source for the wiring diagrams for these cars? That would be ever so helpful!

That's weird. I had my dealership install the JDM illuminated door sills on my 3GS (all 4 doors). That is also not an option for us, but they installed them. Hmmmm....
