A nitpick that just won't go away - Rear sunshade Gap
Ever since taking delivery on my 4GS, I have been confounded by why the rear sunshade was designed so that there is a gap at the top due to the shape of the sunshade vs. the shape of the rear window. Was it an engineering or design failure or a managment decision that it wasn't worth the effort to do it right the first time? It certainly detracts from the Lexus Covenant and Mission statements and my feeling about the marque. Has anyone come up with a workable cosmetic fix or am I the only one bothered by this?

The rear shelf is flat. If the upper edge of the shade was curved it wouldn't look right on the shelf. If it were to be hidden underneath the shelf it would consume more trunk space.

Never noticed this until I saw this thread. I had to lower my head to see the space and I'm an average sized guy. What about the spaces on the sides? I guess some are more picky than others. It doesn't bother me at all and IMO the new design is definitely more luxurious than the previous one and the one used in the new ES. If it bothers you, you can just run a black electrical tape or plasti dip across the top window.
