yeah, he's doing it wrong. The GS suspension is a little bit loose, he'd have to point with two fingers (or more).

You are gonna have battle with lexus in order to get that considered as a defect. GL

Are we talking about the encircled area? That looks pretty bad. Doesn't look like p**ped etch to me. Does your car have any coating? Could it be defective coat? Either way, sorry to see and I must say your GS is shiny. On a side note, I took a chance to (traditionally) wash mine last night and now it's raining.

Had something very similar to this on my 370, only visible in direct sunlight. Dealership repainted the area without any issues even thought I discovered it almost a month after purchasing the car.

looks like an etching. if it is, it could be a number of things that caused it.

I have learned to NOT let bird doo-doo sit on the surface of my liquid platinum GS350 until it's dry, especially in the hot Texas sun. It will etch a mottled scar into the clearcoat in no-time and it's impossible to get it all out completely. Scratch-X, cleaner wax, and other products will not get it out entirely. I keep a bottle of Meguiars Detailer and a micro-fiber cloth in the trunk to deal with these spots as soon as I see them. And I've quit parking under trees. Lexus paint must be VERY SOFT.

It's not just Lexus, it's pretty much all modern clear coats. Yoy can thank our friends at the EPA for that.
