Akebono ACT1118 ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake front Pads
I'm thinking about going with the Akebono pads to reduce some brake dust.$52 w/free shipping on Amazon. The dust isn't too bad but I'd like less.
That number is for the AWD and not the F-Sport RWD.
I ordered a front set for the wife's CR-V.

I'm currently using it on my 250 F Sport. It has the same brakes as the 350 RWD non f sport. Dust is reduced by at least 50%! Braking power redused by abt 20%.. The original pads though produce more dust but it bites better! Dat is how I feel...

I had the Akebono fronts on an ES350 and didn't feel any difference.
You'll find some people say the braking is virtually the same, the same or bit less braking.
Late next week I'm putting Akebono front pads in the wife's CR-V and see how they feel again.Different type vehicle, though.

I've used akebono's on the 2GS as well as a LS430 and other vehicles.
One difference compared to oem is that the first 2-3 stops dead cold (first stops of the day), they will have a little squeak, especially if you are braking lightly , or feathering it. But once they are warm and not stone cold, they will be fine.
I agree they won't "bite" the same way as OEM. You can think of OEM as softer compound versus this being harder compound-which is why the dust is reduced.
But they can outbrake your tires, if you actually use your foot, so the remark that it's 20% less braking is not entirely correct. It is just a different braking bite curve.

Thanks for sharing the info. I have a basic question. How does one know if the pads need replaced? How long do the OEM usually last? My driving is considered normal. I don't tail gate or hard brake. I have 33K on the clock. I think it's time but I don't hear any noise or notice any difference in braking. Thanks.
