Default Parking sensors question

I searched the forums didn't see a thread about this. Do the parking sensors just snap together? I mean, dos the inner, sensor portion just snal into the holder that mounts to the bumper?

I struck a chunk of retread tire this morning (long story) and it popped out one of the sensors' inner part. The holder is still in place.. the parking assist ssytem is going nuts on the left front! I am guessin g that the sensor is just hanging there, behind the bumper.

I believe that's how it stays in place. But the question is can you get just that outside piece? Or do you have to order the entire sensor?

Ugh. You will have to remove said bumper to get to it then. That sucks.

I hope that works. The GS is a pain to work on. God forbid the LED DRLs go out. The entire bumper has to come off.

I have done it also in my Camry, front and rear bumper. It's not all that hard really. It's just a pain with all the little plastic clips and putting it back together. Break or lose a clip and it's a run to the dealer we go. LOL

I agree.. if one clip doesn't quite lin eup and then the bumper doesn't sit right.. my '08 TL was like that after I added an aero kit to it.. one part never fit back like stock.

I just hope this is an easy fix..

BTW, recaps suck and are a huge danger! My insurance agent told me she gets many claims involving them

We call them retreads here in the Midwest. I see them all over the interstate.

We call them that here too. In summer, they are all over the freeways here too. Sometimes scattered all over several lanes. Nothing like seeing a big chunk of tire flying towards your windshield.. or like this morning, a big part of the cap in the middle of the lane and no where to go to avoid it without causing an major accident.. sigh .. just bad luck

You can get the outside trim piece (ring) for about $10 factory paint to your color.

Thank you! I hope I don't need that part but it's nice to have the capability! Much appreciated

It's not difficult to take off the bumper, the only challenge is to put it back and line up correctly.

I had to pull out part of the bumper to try and re-attach the sensor.. it went back in but is loose, so I ordered the new parts
