Default Alarm on Fob

Does anyone know if there is a way the dealer can disable the alarm button on my fob? Wayyyy too many times now, the button has been depressed in my pocket and it is quite annoying.

Even happened while driving one time. I had the tunes up loud and thought it was a driver next to me laying on the horn. After he slowed down, I turned down the radio and realized...Doh! It was me.

Can it be disabled?

Yes the remote panic button can be disabled by dealer. Take them less 5 minutes in and out.

that's easy... They're in his pocket. Sorry V, I couldn't help myself. Anyway, I didn't know the alarm could be tripped while driving. That must be annoying as hell. Yeah, take her to the dealer they should be able to disable it. Although, are you sure you want to do that?

put a key cover sleeve over the remote fob the extra height above the button should prevent it from being pressed.

That's a good idea! I found some nice silicone sleeves in various colours and graphics on eBay that fit like a glove, protect the fob from scratches, and I've never had an unwarranted activation in my pocket (I can't wear tight fitting jeans ) to boot!

She usually has her hand in my back pocket...where my wallet sits.

I never have any reason to use it. I stay away from bad areas...like New York.

I have the fob cover, but it slides up and down exposing the button at the most inopportune moments.

I could try putting the cover on backwards, but it's possible that pressure against the leather will still trigger it.

I'm going to my dealer tomorrow to see what they can do.

If they tell me to stop wearing skinny jeans and just leave, I'm gonna trade it in for a mini-van.
