Proof that it does switch
It sems to happen when it is cooler outside. This happened after a car wash. Maybe moisture has to do with something?

Mine rarely switches as well, and both the AC and the re-circ are on auto. However, we did a road trip from FL to GA last weekend, and while in GA, it did switch from re-circ to outside air. Seemed to do it when the difference between outside temp and cabin temp was not that great.

I suspect that in trying to hold cabin temp, if the outside temp is more than a few degrees higher than cabin temp, the system stays in re-circ mode. I also think that ambient humidity and outside air quality figure in as well.

I believe you, but that really isn't proof. That's just how mine looks after I push the Recirc button and switch it over manually.

It's been cooled down this past two days. (I wasn't driving the GS yesterday). This morning as I was leaving the house, I noticed auto and fresh air were on. I tried to switch to auto and recir but it would not let me. It would let me switch to recir only but not auto with recir on as it did let me in the past. I left auto and fresh air on and noticed it switched back and forth quite often on the way to work. I didn't make any change to the setting so I suspect the recent weather change affected this. Not a big fan of this but I'm glad it lets me switch to recir only. I thought I let you know. Someone stated it was GS problem, I guess not.
