Default F Sport Brake

Has anyone upgraded their regular brake to the blue Brembo F-sport brake? Called my local dealer in Hong Kong and they said it is only available in US. So want to drop a message here to get a few feedbacks on whether it's worthwhile for this upgrade.

Default Brembo F-Sport brakes

If you are talking about the sky blue brake kit that is labeled with the F-Sport label that's available here in the USA - they are StopTech brakes. ST60 (six piston) 355x32 in the front and ST40 (four piston) 345x28 in the rear. Lexus doesn't sell the braided hoses that are available from StopTech, but it might be a good idea to get those too.

From the ST web site you can get friction disks that are cross-drilled or not. However, I'd prefer to have the AP Racing J-hook disk setup, but the ST equipment is working quite well for me.

One caveat, my setup is on an IS 350. I believe that all F-Sport kits are StopTech hardware though. When I bought my car I was told that the brakes were made by Brembo - funny.

Thanks for the info.. This is the one I am referring to. So these are ST? I am still thinking of installing in or not because Lexus here already refused to install it for me although it's an OEM Lexus accessories in US. They told me that I will have warranty issue if I put these on, which I am sure you didn't have this issue.

Btw mrpartsman, like the Think Design front lip on the white, which i will do the same thing to mine.

Been happy with StopTechs too. Before they were installed, I switched out the supplied composite pads to Centric ceramic pads though which have no dust problems.

StopTech supplied calipers and rotors for F-Sport, but that relationship no longer exists so if you want the same calipers, you can buy the StopTech ones and have them custom powder coated. As the others have said, you get the added benefit of braided lines.

StopTech are generally less expensive than Brembo too.

Just FYI...I have the F Sport brakes and I have had to replace the rotors twice due to a loud 'ticking' noise which shows up somewhere between 10,000 to 20,000 miles after install. My Lexus dealer replaced the first time although they told me it was because I was using harsh wheel cleaner to clean them (I wasn't). The second time they paid for the parts but made me pay for the labor. This time they said this was normal wear for such high performance brakes. I called StopTech and they told me this was BS. I drive the car mostly freeway and do not track the car. I think my problems are due to poor installation by my dealer...not torquing the bolts on the rotor properly... but maybe is a StopTech design problem. Just FYI...

It would be cheaper if you just paint them and put the FSport logo on them (if you are just going for the look that is). Not sure if they make "F-Sport" official brakes yet for the GS350 or if they will anytime soon.

there would never be F Sport brakes available for the GS, because Stop tech is the company who makes the F Sport brakes for Lexus. so u better off painting them just like Mike said.
