Question Lazy transmission or problem?

I don't know if it's just me but do you find the transmission very lazy while driving when the car is still cold? The shifts are pretty noticeable and jerky. Also, if I put it in manual and shift at lets say 3k, it'll sometimes reach 6k before actually shifting. Can I chalk this up to the transmission being cold or might I have some issues? Once warm though, shifts happen completely unnoticed.

I've noticed that when I use the paddle shifters (in manual mode) - it takes a second or two before it actually shifts. I intend to ask the service manager about it when I go in the next time (even though I suspect they will come back with "could not duplicate issue")

It's weird, it only happens for the first 5 minutes of driving I'd say. I'm just going to assume the transmissions is not a morning person lol.

Notice the same problem as you brother. Sometimes when cold and you put in manual mode it wont even shift after like 2 clicks

end of day this car is still an auto, while i think the shifts are pretty quick for an auto, it's not going to be instant when you hit the paddle like a dual clutch tranny.

I never use the paddles, and even in Sport + mode it shifts fine. It does hold the gears a lot longer, but it's not jerky. Definitely not lazy or jerky in Normal mode. Eco is okay but leaves a lot to be desired. I find myself flooring that much harder in Eco mode to get up to speed, but it does increase MPG in town.

The only time I ever use Eco mode is if I'm low on gas and I'm too lazy to stop for gas; not that it makes that much of a difference lol. I'm always in sport, and sport+ when I'm feeling adventurous. The lag only occurs for the first 5-10 mins of driving, other than that it's fine.

True - but no reason why it can't be instantaneous

Using the paddle shifters on my GS, I feel they are the slowest of any car I have driven, cold or warm they are sluggish. I would hope the 2014 is improved.
