Well said. I traded an '11 Audi S5 for my GS and never looked twice at the key or said, "OMG, what have I done. This key is so substandard compared to the Audi".
unless you are hanging it on the mirror to constantly remind yourself, i don't see this being an issue.

+ 1000 - The other part worth mentioning is that the key goes in my pocket and it doesn't come out until I get back home. Some of the German cars require that you put the key in the dash even though it has remote start. What's the point of that?

its not a issue or a problem, just something i'd wish they spent more time on. If they wanna be included in the german big 3 conversations they need nicer looking keys. I'm just one of those people that pays attention to every detail

WTH maybe its just me but the GS key looks so much better than the lame bmw one when its pictured like this:

I'm sorry, but producing a nicer key is not going to get them into the German Big 3 conversations because buyers don't even typically see the key until the car is delivered. The car and the brand identity will get them into the conversations. I bought the Audi because I loved the car. If the key was made out of tin foil I wouldn't have cared as long as it worked.
I like the new key over the old one. The old one felt flimsy and worn out when they gave it to me for a loaner. But both keys are better than the one they give for the LFA.
