TPMS in action
For anyone wondering what happens when tire pressure drops too far, there is an amber warning light that comes on showing a picture of a deflated tire.
I noticed over the weekend my RR tire pressure was showing 31 compared with 34/35 for the other three. Never seen that big a gap before so went to put air in the tire while gassing up. So I position the car just so next to the air pump, get out (in the pouring rain) only to see it’s a $1 pay thing and I have no coins. (Why do I have to pay for air at the gas station I spend $75 at every week? Anyway.)
So I just decide to ignore it as I’ll be swapping over to the winter tires soon enough. Then this morning while driving the kids to school with the wife the amber warning light comes on. I toggle the display to the TPMS and it’s now showing 21! The 21 was in a different colour -- black on a square amber background, which looked pretty cool, wish I had taken a picture.
So after dropping off the kids drove straight to Lexus, no appointment, arrived 8.59 (they open at 9.00), greeted immediately, kindly offered a car wash (no thanks), then they set to work straight away. 9.40am we are out of there driving back home. It was a nail. All fixed up for no charge.
Fantastic service from Lexus on The Park, Toronto.
Great having this TPMS, one of those things you don’t realize how useful it is until it actually does its job. We likely would have driven around on it for ages otherwise as the tire just when looking at it appeared completely normal.

I love hearing stories like this! The way Lexus takes care of their customers is awesome!
I know that it has a LOT to do with the individual dealership, and I know that some have had negative experiences, but I truly believe stories like this are far more common than bad experiences! I credit Lexus for driving the excellent customer service philosophy in there dealership organization. And .... it works! So far, the dealership I use has sold me 3 new cars (4 total) based almost entirely my experience in their service department. And my next one will come from them as well! (It's why I'm trolling in the GS forum )

Discount tires also give you a few free ones too. And if you buy the tires from them with cert, they fix or replace for free. Just need to make sure they patch not plug. Last time when I had a flat I specifically asked if they would patch before I let them fix it. Later on I found out they plugged it.
