Default Regarding usb

So I took out my USB last night and completely reformatted and wiped it...and threw new music back on yet, folders that I did not put in there are still showing up on my nav? I did throw those files in the first time loading music up and played it in the nav but completely deleted them popped the USB back in and they still showed up?

I figured I would wipe the USB clean and throw some music back on there yet it still has these "techno" folders and songs wtf!!??

They showed up - but are you able to actually play them? I suspect the nav might be caching the titles/folder-names.
If the files are truly not on the USB, you won't be able to play them. Ideally, the Nav should have detected that the folder layout/files had changed, and rescanned the USB drive. Not sure why it didn't though. Your dealership should be able to help.

Could this be a format issue? I seem to remember the USB drives need to be formatted for FAT32 rather than NTFS for the GS to read the drive properly.

Do the files show up if you read the stick on a computer?

If the nav is still able to play them from the USB drive, then the files are still on your USB drive. It has nothing to do with user settings on Nav

The nav unit on the GS doesn't have a hard drive to rip/copy music to, so it can't store a copy of the songs.

Plug the USB drive into your computer, and re-check whether those files are there in some folder/sub-folder etc.

Try emptying your trash when the USB drive is plugged into your computer
