Am I missing something here? Is there a way to run the accessories without turning the car on?

Ya, just hit the start button a couple of times without holding the break down...

Pressing the start button without your foot on the brake puts the car in acc mode. Pressing it again puts it in on mode.

I used accessory mode, but couldn't figure out how to turn off completely without first starting the car. Pressing the button again without the brake applied didn't work.

So how do you do dat?

I had it in this mode for about 30 minutes or less the other day while I was waxing the front end. All of a sudden the radio stopped and I glanced inside, "powering down to save battery" or something like that was on the screen. I guess the radio is hardcore.

If you're in acc mode you'll have to press it twice; once goes to on mode then the second shuts the car off completely.
