Default How does ride quality of GS 350 compare to LS 430?

I currently own a LS 430 modern tech package without air suspension. How does the gs 350 compare? Is it as quiet as the LS, and is the ride quality better?

Thanks Guys!

I haven't directly compared the two, but I'd be willing to bet the GS is more firm.

The ride quality is not going to be "better" than the LS430. The LS430 is probably the softest smoothest riding car Lexus has made...one of the smoothest and quietest cars anyone has ever made...the GS is a sport sedan. The ride is going to be firmer than the LS....but handling will be much better.

I came to Lexus from the LS, my Dad had two, a 98 400 with the air suspension and an 04 430 with the air suspension. Both rode great. I love the way my GS rides, and when driving down the road it reminds me a lot of the LS, it has that smooth glasslike ride to it which I love. But, its going to be firmer over potholes and expansion joints and such, the tradeoff to a suspension that provides much better handling.

As for quiet, again the cars are built for different purposes. The GS is also very quiet with little road and wind noise on good tires. BUT, again its a sportier car. The engine and exhaust note is intentionally more pronounced while in the LS the driveline is almost silent.

You should drive one and judge for yourself.

Thanks for the info! So what tires would be considered quiet on the gs 350 with stock 19 f sport rims?

you can't compare an LS430 to a GS350... i've owned both but currently drive an LS460. both are great cars but the ride as SW stated will be firmer in the GS, which i also enjoy. but the LS460 is a different beast. Highway cruiser VS. a street monster, not a big monster but a monster none the less.

If you want the smoothest ride you don't want an F Sport. You want a luxury with AVS and 18" michelins.

Default GS350 vs LS460

I have owned both. LS 460 very quiet and smooth ride. Have more road noise in GS but much firmer ride and much better handling. Bottom line, GS is fun to drive and is the biggest reason I traded in my LS for the new GS

Michelin Pilot Sports would most likely give you the best balance of quiet and decent handling. The Dunlops that came with mine aren't bad, but I will definitely be trading them for the Michelins when the time comes to replace them.

I agree. I have the Michelin Pilot Sports on a BMW and they are great tires. Quiet ride and good performance. The Dunlops that came on the GS350 are OK but will definitely be changing to Michelins when the time comes.

I've also owned a 05LS430 and now a 13 GSFsport.
The LS is amazing for ride quality. Handling was satisfactory. The GS is a sport model that is great in many ways. Ride quality is nothing like a LS but good for its class of car.

I'd say The LS rides smoother more air matress like lol. But the GS is not too far off in regards to comfort but will feel more firm, sturdier, and sportier feel in general when daily driven. LS is the Lexus flagship most known for quiet cabin experience and comfort. Both great cars IMO!
