Default To F Sport or Not

I had my decision all made up a few days ago to buy a 2013 GS F sport but took a long road trip (1200 miles) n my 2008 is350 performance modified with F Sport away bars, springs and stock and it was no fun.
At times it was but got old quickly

Just wondering it everybody has any opinions between the 2 version s the f sport and non on long road trips. The car would be used for hauling the family around mostly. I will continue to use the is359 as my daily car.

Also thinking if I got the GS non F sport that I would get the wheel package.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

I think you should look into getting luxury package as it adds the sport +. mode. It won't be as stiff as the F sport but if you feel spirited driving is required, it's there. But overall it won't feel as "floaty" as say an ES would be in normal mode. To me I feel like the Lux is a good balance between sport/luxury.

I've taken three 1300 mile trips since I purchased our F Sport in late April, I'm over 60 have had many different cars, used to drive a BMW 528 back and forth from Central Florida to DC, the F Sport is a great highway cruiser, and the best long distance road car I've owned. I was very comfortable and did 75% of the driving. I would say a big part of this are the seats, frankly do not like the seats in the IS. I would love to take my car cross country, wouldn't think twice about the comfort or it's ability in different terrain.

My F-Sport is lowered with 20" wheels and tires and it still did great hauling my family to and from Southern CA to Las Vegas during the summer. Absolutely no ride or comfort issues.

It's on the edge of the factory specification:

I have an F-sport and have no issues with discomfort in ride quality on our terrible roads here.

I think the F Sport stands out more than the other models, and I couldn't give up the Cabernet interior. I drive on the highway in light traffic a couple of times a week and the F Sport feels very comfortable and planted on the road.

Thanks Guys.

Going off to the dealership today to purchase an GS.
I will drive them back to back again.
The base GS that I am looking at is Black on Black and has the summer package.
The F sport is silver/Black..prefer the Black on Black though.

Thinking I can add sway bars latter to the base. Worried about the adjustable suspension as my experience has been problems down the road with a past Nissan 300zx and Lexus GX470.

Thanks and any more opinions before would be appreciated.

Black exterior, a lot more work ahead of you!

I bought the Fsport, just liked the more aggressive look and feel. Very very comfortable car, big I came from bmw with rft..... Good luck on your purchase! It's a great car in any flavor. 1 year in and I'm very happy with it

I have the F-Sport and am really happy with the ride quality. I came from a 2011 IS250. The ride quality is so much better on the GS, even with the F-Sport. It is, by far, the most comfortable cruiser I've owned. It was a pure joy to drive on our Thanksgiving trip from Los Angeles to Phoenix. Seats are awesomely comfortable!

The Obsidian is really soft, and although it looks fantastic when clean, it is hard to keep it that way. Scratches show quickly. I have the Liquid Platinum and it always look clean and has a great "glow" to it that really shows the cars lines. It actually looks best on cloudy days.

Don't get me wrong... I think the car looks best in black, but I've heard from owners in the forum that maintaining it (especially without scratches) is a second career.
