My car obtains slightly better mileage than my 370z did which is about expected... 3.5l vs 3.7l. It's also on par with a guy i know who has a g35... 19-21 in suburb driving, that's just what it is.

My 2014 Lexus GS 350 AWD is getting lower mpg's than expected but am keeping an open mind. Drive mostly in Normal mode (although Sport+ is pure fun). Only have 750 miles. Ranged anything from 17 to 19 on mixed driving. On pure highway I made 22.5 mpg. Hoping it is a result of breakin, cold weather and cold weather fuel mixture. Only on my 3rd fill-up. My 2000 Lexus GS 300 was 22 mixed and 24 highway. Although I would rather higher mpgs, my real diappointment is the range on a tank of fuel. 350 miles doesn't cut it.

This car really sucks even in either mode I'm averaging 19mpg wtf it that? I have tried everything but 19mpg will not change and sometimes its even 17mpg. I am sick of it that I don't look anymore I just drive it in any mode *hit. LOL......
I do not have a heavy foot like some say I drove a BMW 323i for 15years and it was cool.

I just wish I could get that 28 mpg as advertised, and I don't think getting even 24+ mpg while driving 65-70 mph for an hour is too high of an expectation for my car.
please feel free to let me know if my expectations are too high.

I have experienced the published gas consumption but only once. So you need those rare conditions to all come together, a long stretch of highway with little or no traffic on it, traveling from a higher elevation to a lower elevation and mild temperatures. For me that was a 160+ km. stretch of highway where I not only did not have to brake, was slightly downhill and the late spring temperatures were about 17-18 C at a steady 120 kph. In fact, the folks of at Edmunds when doing a long term test of the car said that many of their staff achieved the 31 mph quoted.

There was a new rule change on how to calculate the MPG in 2008. That's why the MPG rating on the same car (for example GS) drop from 29 to 26 HWY on the same spec engine. You cannot compare the MPG read out from pre 2008 model to post 2008 model.
My 2013 GSFS gets 29 MPG cruising at flat hwy. 26 up hill and 31 down hill. Average of all driving is around 24.8, which is not too bad on a sporty car.
Actually, in real dollar term, the difference is around $5 to $10 per fill up, so I think people are too obsess with the MPG numbers and over blown its economic impact.

Have a 2014 RWD with 8 speed AT with 400 miles and overall average is about 18 mpg. The average for my prior 535i was close to 25 mpg. I'm hoping the average will increase after a few thousand miles, but I doubt I'll get more than 20-21 mpg.
Also, I miss manual transmission. The 8 speed feels like the gears are slipping under moderate / normal acceleration. The feeling is much more pronounced than with my wife's RX.

Well I've had it with this Lexus. Coming from an Audi A7 to Lexus is not an easy transition and I was not willing to endure not being happy with my drive for multiple years. I bought the '14 GS 350 RWD Lux on Dec 30 and yesterday traded it back to Lexus and bought a new '14 Audi A6 TDI.
Gas Mileage was only getting worse. Averaged 14.9 in the City all in ECO Mode for the last tank.

While most of the GS driving was tame, I got on it a few times. Those times alone were worth the hit in mileage!

I noticed little difference between new and "break-in," which has less significance for modern cars. However, as my dealer insisted, I found substantial difference between winter and summer gasoline formulations. '13 gs350awd delivers 26 - 27 mpg under optimal conditions. Otherwise, maybe 24 mpg highway and 19 in town. Currently have a little over 10K miles total.

After almost two years, I continue to get 25-27 MPG here in Tucson, what I would describe as suburban driving. On the few long highway trips I took, I averaged 28-31 MPG. I could not see any difference in mileage among the various modes. Perhaps my car likes the higher altitude.
