Question Trying to help a friend out

Hello! I just wanted some opinion on some modification for the 4GS! Its for my friend who recently leased one and im trying to inspire him to mod it a bit but am not sure on some aspects like suspension and the control dial for the different drive modes and what it controls!

Basically, he wanted to get the TRD kit at first but it seemed quite expensive! Unless u guys could show me a link where he could get it at a cheaper price! Anyways, I am trying to convince him to go the suspension and wheel route first! I think that the car is quite sexy already and a change in wheels and suspension would make a bigger difference than a lip kit!

As far as suspension goes, my question is, what is the best route to go? I have been using coils for my recent rides and always get that first but since there is a control that affects suspension would springs be a better option to retain the function of that dial? I dont think he is ready for a significant drop anyway so maybe an inch drop would be the max I would recommend him! What would be the pros and cons of going for either coils or springs?

As far as wheels go, I told him to take his time! Finish up with his suspension parts first then buy some nice shoes after! My question on this part though is what are the conventional sizes for wheels and tires for just a basic flush set up? If he were to go with that 1" drop what specs would he need and what camber settings?

Your help is much appreciated! I truly hope u guys could help my friend out so he can finally join me in meets!

Thanks in advance!

Well in terms of suspension the Tanabe NF210 is what most have and there is also the RS-R coilovers or lowering springs as well. I would def tell him to wait for the suspension to settle before getting wheels. No camber kit needed. Wheels Im currently have 20x9 in front and 245/35/20 and rear 20x10.5 with 285/30/20 many that are around that number are flushed. Hope that helps.

Yea that helps! What are the offsets on those wheels though? Also what is the drop on those springs?

Why did u choose the tanabe springs?

Thanks for the reply man!

Edit: btw, do you have any pics of your current ride?

Why would your friend mod a lease? It will have to go back to default when he returns it so it's money out the window at that point. Is he planning on keeping it after the lease is up?

Ha! Seems you're hanging out more over here than where u are a moderator man!

Yea he's thinking of keeping it after but minor mods like wheels and springs shouldnt hurt!

Kinda passed on my modding bug onto him so he wanted to start!
