I am a bit confused. I saw this while browsing and it appears like the 2014's have HD radio that will allow some type of live traffic and weather without having to deal with XM or Sirius. To me that would be a good thing as I never really liked the quality of XM radio, just too low of bandwidth for my tastes, and if their traffic and weather would be similar, then Plus if I could get the info for free all the better! My car should be arriving in a few weeks, so has anyone picked a newer 2014 up recently and checked this out to see if they added this on? The site says it is included on GS's

Have a '14 GS AWD Lux pkg. Don't know the terminology. But what I believe it is referring to is HD channels within the frequency, ie 102.1 will come up 1 of 3 meaning there are 3 HD digital channels at that frequency. Some station allocate one of their channels for Weather or Traffic. I do not believe there is a display feature of the information as with the XMRadio feature integrated with the Nav system. With the HD channels you are able to specify the Type of channel which will help locate. Haven't tried it but played around a little with it. Others please clarify if you have more detials.

only the 2014 IS model has the HD radio traffic/weather


the 2014 GS still uses SiriusXM data for traffic/weather data...but the HD radio quality for FM/AM is great!!!

2014 IS, CT and GX all have the latest navigation which has the subscription free traffic and weather. 2014 ES, GS, LS, RX, LX, IS-C, IS-F all use the carry over SirusXM services, though ES, GS, LS, RX have Siri Eyes Free

Kind of off topic but does the '14 4GS use a different Bluetooth profile i.e. 4.0 instead of an older one? When I had a '14 loaner paired with my iPhone I realized the Bluetooth icon had a battery indicator next to it. It looks just like this.

Hmm.. my '13 GS-F Sport has the battery indicator on the display as well and I also get HD radio stations (but no weather info, its through XM).

Are Canadian models any different?

I have the battery indicator on the nav screen and hd radio as well. The battery indicator I am talking about showed up on my phone like in the pic I posted.
