Wierd Noise from the Parking Break?!?
Hey guys, i've got a '13 GS 350 F-Sport and when the parking brake is set and you go to get out of the car it makes a real weird creaking noise. Has anyone else experienced this? Its only when the parking brake is set, if i turn the auto parking brake off, it doesn't do it at all. Lexus seems to have no clue what to do about it and they said this is the first time anyone has experienced this issue.

I've heard it a few times also. I think the car is reminding us to stick to our New Years resolution lol. But no seriously I think it is just the emergency brake settling into a firmer grip after a weight change ie the driver getting out. Maybe?

Alright guys, here's an update on the noise found from the parking break. After about 4 trips to the dealership and countless times for the foreman to hear the noise, he finally heard what i was hearing. The service write up said this: DISASSEMBLE REAR LEFT BRAKE FOR SOUND ISSUE, BRAKE BACKING PLATE APPEARED DRY. LUBED THE PLATE, REASSEMBLED AND RETEST. NOISE STILL PERSISTENT. REMOVED REAR LEFT DISC ROTOR AND PARKING BRAKE STAR ADJUSTER. THERE WAS A SHARP EDGE FROM THE STAR ADJUSTER FOR THE PARKING BRAKE. REMOVED SHARP EDGE, REASSEMBLED AND TEST. NOISE NO LONGER PRESENT.
hopefully none of you have this issue. it was a pain my *** to get them to hear what i was hearing.

I heard the creak today. I engaged the parking break manually as I was parking on a hill and got the creak when I took my foot off the break and the car "settled". I guess I'll bring it to the dealer and give them the info above.

In the 3 years we have had our 13 GS I have had the above repair done 3 times. The last time the squeak went away for less than a month. Scheduled for maintenance in Sept and I already told the service writer to expect to fix it again. We like this car very much but issues like this where they can't or won't provide a fix are frustrating.
