New GS350 Shuddering Question
Hi all! New GS350 F-Sport AWD (nebula gray) owner here. Literally picked up the car 2 days ago and barely have 100 miles on it.
I took her out and was revving the engine last night (while in Park) to hear the exhaust/engine, and I think when the tach hit the 5-6k RPM mark, the car started shuddering and vibrating as it was revving up.
1) Was it bad for me to rev her up this high so early in the break-in period? I only did it for a few seconds, and never touched redline.
2) Was the shaking/shuddering at the higher RPMs normal?
3) The car seems oddly loud at idle, almost like a sputtering sound, is this normal as well? I think I read somewhere that it sounds almost like a diesel, but not sure...
Love the car overall and the F-Sport package, but I hate the retarded remote start w/ the auto-shutoff and the inability to mute navi guidance while on bluetooth phone.
Thanks!

Was the engine warmed up to operating temp?

Yep was warmed up and sitting in idle for at least 5-7 minutes. I read somewhere (might've been a benz forum) that the shuddering might be the rev limiter kicking in to prevent engine damage...

I am not an expert mechanic but not sure idling 5 to 7 minutes is warm enough to rev at redline. The only times my cars have 'shuddered' were under heavy throttle w/cold engine, and at redline (limiter). If shuddering at other times I would have it checked.

Mine does that too when I let go just before it hit the redline when free revving in P.
