I'm having the same problem. Want to get the Super Sport in 275/30 and 245/35/20. The only other tire on Tirerack that has good rating is the Continental DWS, but that's an all season tire and down here in So Cal I'm not sure if I need that. I've had all sorts of brands from Kumho to Michelin and hands down the Michelin wins. The cheaper tires have good grip for the first 3-5k miles but that's it. The Michelins Sport are good until the last 1/32". So I'm going to stick with them for now.

Lucky for me I still have my old set of wheel. I ran the rear 20s to the cords! Anyways I can wait a mont or two let me know as soon as they are back in stock.

On previous cars I've had the hankook ventus v12's and they were good. For my 20's coming this week I have the newer hankook ventus v12 evo2 - I can report back on how they are soon.

Also in numerous tests for performance the v12's have done very well.

since I deal with lots of tire ppl, I had them call all the warehouses and everbody said NO for the rear,Hankook not bad, but overall I wonder how long they last and if after 5k miles do they loose the grip.

I had Hankooks v12 evo (not the newest evo2). They were fine but around 5k miles the grip decreased by at least 50%. So I don't recommend them.

I've also had Continental extreme contact DW on my BMW. But one of the tires almost disintegrated one time on the freeway. I managed to limp home (4miles). Not sure if I had a flat or a failure I had at least 30% tread left.

After that I got Michelin Super Sport and I loved those tires. My favorite all time. Amazing grip, quiet, smooth ride, pretty decent tread wear, and most importantly the grip never decreased even when it was 80-90% worn. So I'm hoping they will start making 275/30/20 soon.

I have said this in a few comments before...give Vredestein Vortis a try. ~$300/set cheaper than the Michelins. After 6K+ miles, 9/32 rear, 7/32 front, great grip, smooth ride on RSR SDS. I would buy the PSS for my next set just to compare, but as we know, 275/30/20 is not an option.
