Default I'm Upgrading Brakes!

I'm upgrading the brakes with the RWD brake rotors as I see no real issue. I ordered the front calipers and the rotors as those should be the only issue unless I need to change the dust shield in the back. I have provided the picks of the rotors once I get the calipers I will post the pics of them as well. Can anyone think of anything else I would need to change.

Probably not relevant, but: If you have winter wheels that are steel, you'd need to change them as steel wheels + RWD F-Sport brakes is a no-no. I've not seen an explanation of why, but imagine it's that steel is hard enough to chew up that lovely aluminum hat that comes with those rotors, leading to loose lug nuts, followed shortly by weight savings from missing wheels.

My winter wheels would be my F-Sport wheels. Should clear it as they are used on the RWD model as well.

Awesome! I had asked a question regarding this a bit ago and would love to hear your experience with the RWD brakes on the AWD!

Also, someone in my thread mentioned that the Lexus website was wrong and that the RWD F-Sport calipers are the same as the F-Sport AWD calipers, would love to see pics comparing the two!

I am thinking of doing the same thing, expect thinking of throwing the stock front AWD calipers and discs on the rears, and upgrading the fronts to the F-Sport RWD calipers - PROVIDED these are different. I guess the resulting would be a 4/2 big brake kit

I don't even know if any of that is even possible!

The calipers on the RWD are different they are a little longer, the piston is the same as ours though. I heard they would be 6 Pot but there isnt one.

My dealer quoted me $82 ea for the front and the calipers are $315 EA isn't that bad to keep OEM. I figure if Lexus installs it anything goes wrong should be covered.

I will weigh the rotors when I get a chance.

Basically yes it is 14" vs the awd 13", but it would be considered stock since it comes on the rwd GS.

Did you ever finish the brake mod and was it pretty straight forward?

I was not able to go through with it because the AWD is to different so it was a cancelled job. I wanted to do them so bad but there would have been no way. The rotors were I think $100 a rotor.

$100 a piece for OEM RWD FSport rotor? That's cheap, where did u get it from?

Sorry to hear of the cancellation, I was looking forward to your results for a future upgrade.

Two questions:

Is the two piece rotor considerably lighter then the AWD one piece?

What was the major obstacle hindering the install?
