AWD F Sport Wheel / Tire Question
Leased a GS350 F Sport last week.
Very impressed with the car.
One issue - maybe I am getting old....
I realize the benefits of a 19" tire when it comes to handling and I like the way they look...I take those on ramps at speeds that push my driving ability, but not the car's...But roads around here are not like they are in Germany...highway ride is OK..maybe just a bit too firm, but regular roads are another story.
I saw a set of LS430 wheels and rims for sale on Craigslist. They are 245-45-18 with Dunlop Sports. Tires have about 10K on them and wheels look good. Asking $875
There are currently 235-40-19 on the GS.
What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Please don't say I should have bough a regular GS...the steering feel is not the same + many other reasons.

Sorry, so to clarify you don't like the ride of the 19" wheels or you don't think they are good for where you live. The tires could be the problem to be honest. I would say purchase to better tires like Mich, or conti the ride will be better and keep it in normal mode and sport mode not in Sport+.

Thank you for your reply.
I don't like the ride. Bad roads around here make it harsh. On good roads it's tolerable. I am really being a pain here - it is not that bad...just not perfect. ;-)
New set of tires - $1000 I think I can get the LS package for about $600 + buy a set of winter tires later on.
I am thinking I will stay with Lexus for a while...even if I go to an LS I will still be able to use these in the winter.

What's the best tire to get? I have another Lexus with snow tires I can drive when the weather is really bad.
Priorities:
#1 - Comfortable ride
#2 - Quiteness

Also, can I go with a thicker side wall? 235-45-19 vs current: 235-40-19?
I really want to love this car when I am done with tires...I really like everything else about it.

Go for the 245/40R19 tire size. Its the perfect tire size for this rims on the f-sport. Thats what i am using with michelins and I am very happy with the significant improvement in ride smoothness on the highway without vibration or choppiness. The noise is substantially quieter.
