How good do the hubcentric rings fit? Are they snug between the ID of the wheel bore and the OD of the hub?

It might be the tires too.

I've had a slightly deformed tire before, it was a factory defect and only shakes my wheel when going 40 MPH or less. The balancer couldn't pick up the vibration cause it's fine for 40 MPH+ but if u spin it slowly by hand u can see it spins funny.

Also did you road force the whees/tires by a proper mechanic on the hunter road force machine? Make sure no readout is more than 10-12 lbs road force for each wheel/tire assembly or that GS will shimmy. Also, the hub centric rings may not be perfect and even 1-2mm difference made my 2012 Audi A8L shimmy badly and we replaced all 4 optional aftermarket rims 2 years ago on my winter set. And finally, proper torque of all 5 bolts.

It has to be the lowering because I'm on my second set of tires and even with a bent rim (that was later fixed) the car never shimmied.

Great to hear this!! I have to say the hunter road force machine is the way to go every time vs the traditional balancers.

I have a 2013 GS350 Luxury package AWD on stock wheels. I have had my wheels balanced twice and am still getting vibration/shaking and its getting pretty annoying. Its not too bad but at 80mph I dont want to feel this vibration. The first balancing was done on the standard balancer, the second was done on a a road force balancer. Any ideas? What should the wheels be torqued to?

Hi what tire brand and type you have? Michelins or Bridgestones or? What size? Also when they did the road force you need to get the road force spec numbers per wheel/tire and they should not be any more than 10 lbs road force from each of the wheel/tire at all 4 corners of the car or you will feel vibration at highway speeds. I highly doubt its anything to do with the torquing right now since you feel it only 80 mph. I hate vibration and I had this issue on my GS F-Sport few years ago and got the tires replaced with Michelins myself out of pocket and properly road forced to less than 8 lbs per wheel and the GS was smooth as glass.

Some dealers will say its ok with plus 10 lbs road force and that you shouldn't feel it I would say no and stick with lexus spec to less than 10 lbs road force. Let me know what those numbers are and if they dont know have them do it again and make them remount the tire on the rim to get the numbers less than 10 lbs and print out those results for you. If the tires cannot be remounted and are "out of spec or round" you will have to get them replaced out of pocket. Also the hunter machine can measure radial and lateral runouts of those rims to make sure none of them are bent.
