Gracenote Enhances Toyota Entune Music Experience
Gracenote music recognition technology, metadata and licensed Album Cover Art help make it easier for Toyota drivers to enjoy and manage their digital music collection with Toyota Entune™ - enabled multimedia systems.
Music Recognition = Easier Navigation
Gracenote technologies are the industry standard for music recognition. And since many drivers now have thousands of songs stored on their mobile phones and portable media devices, Toyota realized it was critical for drivers to easily access and navigate their massive music collections.
The Gracenote suite of technologies improves voice recognition for music search, letting Toyota drivers and passengers access their favorites artists and albums more accurately with a simple voice command. Where this really comes into play is with hard to pronounce artist names, irregular spellings and nicknames. For example the system has no issues recognizing artists such as Ke$ha and "The Boss."
In addition, the days where CD's only display generic "Track 1, Track 2…" are gone. Gracenote matches CD's to the Gracenote database to display disc Cover Art, Album and Artist Name, Track Name, as well as Genre.
Play “More Like This”
To help drivers hear more of the music they love, Gracenote More Like This associates detailed Genre, Origin, Era, and Artist Type information with the driver’s music collection, letting them create similar music playlists spanning multiple genres.
For instance, if a driver is listening to The Clash – “Rock the Casbah,” they can simply say “Play More Like This” to hear similar artists and music from the band’s Genre (e.g. Classic British Punk), Origin (London), Era (1970s) and Artist Type (Male Group).
The Entune-enabled system is an available feature in select 2015 and 2016 model year Toyota vehicles.
