Maybe if half the adjustments on your GS seats were broken.

My GS has 18 way power seats...your 4 Runner does not have 18 way adjustable seats. Even if you have a base GS, it has 10 way power seats. What adjustments does a 25 year old 4Runner have that a base GS doesn't have?

Your 4Runner is 25 years old...its not as nice inside as a 2 year old ES350...not by a wide margin. Not even a 25 year old LS400 is as nice inside as a 2 year old ES350. The LS has better material quality, but the ES interior is better in every other way, comfort, layout, technology.

Thats just not the case, I put 50,000 miles on the identical car, you're remembering incorrectly. The door panels are not hard plastic anywhere but the bezel around the door handle where the seat memory buttons are. Its the same in Canada as in the US. I know this for a fact because the new 2013 ES has hard plastic door panels, and that was one of the big reasons why I upgraded to a GS.

Again remember, you were in a 2-3 year old Enterprise rental. When its a brand new car that you yourself have driven and cared for, the feel is entirely different.
