Anyone replaced their air filter yet?

Be sure to have a shop vac handy along with a crevice attachment (long and skinny). You won't believe all the leaves and seeds and pieces of crud you'll find in the airbox once you pull out the old filter. Just suck it all up, put in the new element, button everything up, and you're set.

U just need the air filter itself and it shouldn't take more than 5 mins.

I would just stick with OEM. I use to be a fan of those K&N filters that last the life of your car. But in the end it was more a pain than it was worth. You have to wash them and oil them. Too much oil and you can ruin your MAF sensors.

Yea I tried cleaning those K&N filter and ended up putting too much oil and it started dripping on my air box and created a mess. I ended up buying a new filter. lol
I'll stick with OEM this time, plus it's not that expensive anyway.

From previous gen lexuses, quite a few folks use the air filter interval as the interval to also clean the MAF (using MAF cleaner).
Not required, and not in the manual, but positive improvements have previously been reported

Hhahaa. I think I cleaned and oiled mine once and never touched it again. Ended up trading it to someone for a stock filter and some beer. LOL

I'd also suggest replacing the cabin filter (inside your glove compartment). Also, get your vacuum ready as there are small pebbles, twigs, leaves that sometimes get caught in there.
