1. The MF is the MF, there are not different MF's depending on west coast vs east coast. So if you were told that by your dealer, he inflated the MF and then had you buy it back down (VERY common). In any event it still makes your statement that his deal is "lukewarm" based on your deal unfair because your deals cannot be compared. Yours is a different term, different price car, and you paid down the MF with 8 MSDs. Not comparable.

2. I would not automatically get the lowest term, it depends on the deal. If the 27 month lease were cheaper, I'd get that, but in many cases its not. Lexus has some special 27 month leases out there now but when I leased mine 36 was the best deal. I've always leased for 36 months, and I'm comfortable with that. You can always trade out, and for me the 2016 GS will be out about 3 months before my lease ends, had my 2013 lease been 27 months I'd have been short before the new model.

My point about 27 months vs 36 months wasn't to say one was necessarily, just to point out they are different.

Big reason? Because you had to put out 8 MSDs at a cost of at least $4,000 to buy down a dealer inflated MF and he didn't.

Go get the car and post a picture or two. RV, MF, MP, and term look real good to me.

Go with zero drive off, don't put money up front for a lease. U have no negative equity so there is no reason to put money up front. I had ~$5K neg equity and still got zero down.

This is subjective, YOU might get tired of it, YOU might not want to be stuck in a lease, YOU are not everyone else.

OP, I second what another post mentioned, try to get the deal without a down payment. Otherwise you have some pretty good numbers in my opinion, especially with 15k miles/year.

I tend to avoid 27 month leases, as I'd have to pay 3 years worth of license tabs/plates for just over 2 years worth of possession. It varies by state, of course, but here they're fairly expensive.

Without the down payment, my payment would be much higher. But I will try to see if they will agree.

Just remember that all putting money down on the lease does is reduce the payments by that amount of money divided by the term of the lease. So the most the $1,200 could increase the cost of the lease is $33 a month.

I would tell them same payment, $0 drive off and I bet they do it.

Does anyone know what the money factor is for the month of October? I am having a hard time finding out this number from Lexus dealers.

BMW dealers were giving me their info straight out.

Right...you get your MSDs back...so essentially you give LFS an interest free loan in exchange for them reducing the MF to what it should have been before they inflated it for you. The key is that they got you with the whole "The MF is different on the east coast" BS. They padded an extra couple thousand bucks into your deal and you accepted that, thats why you got that great sounding sales price you were bragging about, they moved the money around to make you feel good and got that money back in the inflated MF. You should have gotten that MF with no MSDs, or an even lower MF for your MSDs. Dealers do this ALL the time. Customers focus on the price and the payment, and the dealer can manipulate those figures to make them look good when the customer isn't really getting as good a deal as they think.

27 vs 36 months, to me its whatever has the best payments. Sometimes its 27, sometimes its 36.

Check out www.ridewithg.com. Not much reporting for Oct yet but there will be. Looks like for September is was .00015 for 36 months (which is great) and .0007 for 24. Thats an example where the 36 month may be less than the shorter lease.

As another member said, depending on the program, 27 month leases could have a lower payment vs the 36 month lease, enough difference to make you consider. Then you can always extend your lease for up to 6 months which would actually give you a 33 month term. That way you can at least get 3/4 year out of your 3rd year registration fee.
