The S5 Coupe with the V8 was introduced in 2008 as a 2009 model. A year later, the S5 Cab was introduced with the Supercharged V6 as a 2010 model. A year later, the Supercharged V6 was put in the coupe. Not quite sure why they did that either, but I was much more impressed with the overall performance/handling of the V6. The V8 made the car feel way too nose-heavy.
Well then learned something new today and about an Audi.
I"m really tempted to start e-mailing dealers and head in for a test drive this week. Hell I have off thursday and friday for my sisters wedding this week. MAybe I should sneak over to Lexus one morning.
Scary to think I'm replacing a $60k car in just 2 years though of ownership.

Fascinating...I am in the exact same situation. I also own a 2013 S4 and love it, but am also facing the prospect of owning it out of warranty and still having payments on the car loan. Again, I haven't had any problems whatsoever with the car, warranty or otherwise. But, I am either looking at buying an extended warranty or, for a similar amount, leasing a GS.
My impression is that, despite being down on power, the GS is a thoroughly enjoyable car and is a match for the 335i/S4 in terms of handling, in addition to having more to offer in terms of luxury/comfort. And, if I were to decide to keep it, Lexus vehicles just don't break down.
Feeling very tempted...

Hi all. Obviously I'm new to club lexus and I thought I'd introduce myself as well as get some feedback on a potential trade/lease on a new GS 350 F Sport.
I currently drive a 2013 Audi S4 - which I absolutely love. This is my first real car in this price rnage and I special ordered it in September 2012. Unfortunately at the time I would have probably test drove the GS F Sport had i know how far along Lexus has come from a sport perspective. While I love the S4 I know I'm going to have to consider purchasing a $3-3500 warranty soon if I want to keep. I've had no issues but a single warranty issue during that time frame (car worked fine) down side is the warranty item woulld have cost me $9,000 had in not been in warranty. As much as I love this car I know I don't want to own it out of warranty. So I either buy an extended for a lot of money or I get a new car.
Well I've been browsing this site for about a week now and seeing some of the lease deals out there. IT seems like I can get a fully loaded GS 350 F Sport AWD for somewhere beteween $410-500 on a lease. While I've always been against leases (miles and hate the idea of renting) as I hit 30 I realize I've never had a car more than 4 years and typically more like 3. So owning is probably not right for me and as I'm getting down to 12,000 maybe 13,000 max miles per year it's a possibility.
So I guess my first question is have any come from the BMW 335 or S4/S4 and how does the lexus compare? I know luxury will be fine, I believe the drive feel is fine from recent reviews but a part of me wonders if I'll miss that power.
ON the other end of things is it realistic for me to get a 12,000 mile lease on a GS 350 for about $450 a month? If so seems like a no brainer as the extended warranty I would have to get for the S4 covers down payment, I stop paying 1200 (at an indy shop!) for brakes, and my car payment drops $140 a month while giving me quite a bit of equity in my pocks (I put down half the value of the car when I bought). Also I know lexus runs specials around XMas, does this apply to lease deals? I'm in no hurry to trade in but it seems like I should watch for a good lease special over the next 3-10 months.
Anyway love my S4, always been against lease deals historically, but reality is I can't stay happy with a car more than 3-4 years so I may as well just drop to two and rent it for less. And the GS F Sport in Liquid Platinum or Nebula Gray is incredible and I need those ventilated seats.

Do u have any positive equity in the S4? If so, $450 is possible as long as your have at least $3,000 positive eq.
Most folks lease for 27m around $520 and 36m around $540. Very doable. Also depending on your state you may have a TAX credit for your trade and a TAX break up to 4%..
I also test drove the S5 2010 (v8) and 2014 (6cyl) and A6 just before the purchase of the GS350-Fsport. I loved the Audi exterior, not so much interior. I felt less excited about driving the Audi, GS350 is slower when you go from low speeds to high speeds, I think it has something to do with it being 8sp transmission, which IMO is a downfall of the GS. 2013 GS Model came with 6sp tranny, and the throttle was much more responsive and it picked up speed better.
I also test drove the 435i and the 535i, I liked the look but I did not like the new electronic steering. I felt disconnected from the road.

I just saw $520 looks reasonable. I have a lot of equity in the S4 but I'd like to pull it out. As along as my payment is under $600 I don't care. I can get a newer similar car and pull out about $20,000 in equity without a change in payment. That's a no brainer for me since I also would have to buy a $3500 warranty soon if I keep the S4. Besides, I need to buy a ring soon and it seems fitting to just take money from the car to do it.
Insurance stays flat, and numbers look good. I'm hoping I can get a decent deal on a 2015. Might need to wait until December though for the Lexus holiday event. But sometime in the next 60 days I expect to have a new car.

all 3 dealers I worked with in northern CA were willing to do the same deal
But only one had the color I wanted.

That sounds about exactly what I want. I need to start contact my local lexus dealers now. And see what I can start negotiating, I'm just not sure how much of an impact the December to Remember Event will have.
