best two products that will look great are

Crystalline 40-50% tints

and Formual 1 pinnacle 50%
i have formula 1 on one of my cars its classy and does a good job with heat rejection and has great clarity
pinnacle formula 1 will be around 350
the crystalline 450 or 500
Thanks for the info - I have Formula 1 Pinnacle Tint @ 35% but my car looks really dark because its Starfire Pearl/White exterior contrast. I looked on the FormulaOne site and it indicates that the Pinnacle 35 has a 38% VLT and the Pinnacle 50 has a 55% VLT. If the VLT is 55%, then that might be a perfect compromise.

I was actually looking for pics if anyone actually tinted their 4GS with a 50% tint level...looking to lighten things up a bit.

Just got my '17 GS350 and got the tint done. I went with SunTek CXP80, including the windshield. I wanted to still be able to see the red interior with the tint. I did my research and the CXP line provides great protection and comfort even with it being so light.

Keep in mind that it looks darker in the pics because it is showing through two windows. I didn't take any pics through just one window.

I've got the F1 Pinnacle 30% on my car, based on the factory tint it comes to an alleged ~ 27%, which is above the 25% limit in TX. I guess I've lived here long enough I don't consider that dark by any means, especially compared to the cops who are tinted much darker than we 'nary folks are allowed.

What are you looking for out of your tint? Heat rejection? UV?

From your prior posts in this thread, it seems to me you should just go as dark as you can legally go and enjoy it as much as possible. Naturally up north you have more of a tradeoff of whether you want better heat rejection (like our F1 pinnacle film) for the summer, or want that heat in the winter.

I need to see what level of tint we do on our cars at my dealership. I noticed a few of our other Lexus' have a light tint that looks very classy. It should be 40% to 50% but I can't say for sure. I will take some pictures when I get a chance.

I went with the F1 pinnacle tint for its specs and overall positive ratings. I also went with 35% for that contrasting look since i have a starfire pearl/whit eexterior. Currently leaning toward the 50% pinnacle tint w/its 55% visible light transmission (VLT) rating. Here in NY, the most you can do on any windows is 70% which will definitely help with UV and some heat rejection but provides zero privacy and a "non-tinted" look. I'm looking for the right balance between specs/performance/look/legality. Thanks for the advice.

Just went with F1 Pinnacle tint as well. 30% all around. It came out way darker than I expected because I think the Ultra White F Sport comes with a darker tint than usual or at least that is what it looked to me with my naked eye. If I had to do it all over again I would have gone with 35% all around.

In general I think the tint looks darker on a white car because of the contrast...especially Lexus' Ultra White.. It appears even darker to the eye if the interior is black. Whats worse, is that if the cops are wearing sunglasses, it looks even darker to them!

Here's my Starfire Pearl w/ 35% tint:

Im in NYC as well. I did 35 all around and 50 on the windshield. Honestly, this new tint law is dumb and just another revenue source. Kudos to you for going through the trouble to abide by the law, I personally cant stand we cant have our cars the way we want. We pay enough taxes here... and the roads are horrible lol

I couldn't agree more man...On my block right outside my place, there are 3 nasty potholes. I guess we get squeezed here in NYC while they enforce these tint laws, ticket us and then can't handle patching the roads we drive on...crazy!! Not sure how that tint petition is going but I haven't seen anything new on this topic.

Soon it'll cost $50 to cross the GW yet some how the Cross Bronx will still look like a 3rd-world country road.

Anyone tried "smart tint" on their car? That would be the best of both worlds. Here is a website: http://www.smarttint.com/
