I haven't had any issues like this with my 2014, but this is a problem you get when the same company that manufactures your car's alternator, writes your navigation's OS.

Car's infotainment systems are progressing to rapidly for companies like Denso to keep up.

i wouldn't go that far. all cars have problems and issues. you see a list of problems here, i am sure you find a list on bmw forums too.

My 2015 hasn't frozen but, it loses the settings and restarts whenever i plug in two things to the USB ports.

I bought my car in for 5000 K service and told them about my system freeze from time to time. They found the issue and replaced my stereo. So I guess you guys should bring your card in for them to check. My was IS 350-

Have 2015 Fsport with nor freezing thus far (2.8K miles) but hate trying to open Pandora and the other music apps in my car. When they work, they work fine but when not no music. At least Sirius works every time. I miss having a memory card slot in my car. My Infiniti M35 and both MBZ E-classes has them. Also, all three cars had extra hard drive which enable the driver to store music from many different mediums into the stereo.

My 2013 GS350 F-Sport had the nav screen shut down a couple times, annoying but not disaster. It would often come back on restart.

Last August upon start up nothing in the center pillar worked, radio, nav, HVAC. This IS a disaster in Texas in the summer (I shut down the AC a bit before shutting down the car to avoid the musty AC smell). Brought the vehicle into the dealership under warranty, they updated the software but nothing else. Nav screen still shuts down once in a while, but I haven't experienced an all system shutdown since the update.

I have the same problem. My 2015 Lexus ES 350 freezes about every 2 weeks. The only fix is to turn engine off and then back on again. Maddening and dangerous while driving on a highway. More frustrating is that the computer technologists at my dealership never heard of this problem.

What is it about Lexus fanboys who anytime someone addresses a concern with their car, the parroting of "BMW is worse" is sure to appear. It seems as though there is a collective self-image issue here.

My experience with BMW is quite the opposite as many on here seem to promote. Every make has good points and bad points, I appreciate reading the experiences of people who are honest about their ownership experience.

BTW, I am considering a GS350 FSport for the wife, not because BMW is bad, but because of something Lexus doesn't have, yet.

If it freezes, you can restart it by pressing and holding the volume ****.

When I informed my dealer, they told me that when it happens again to press MENU button ten times on the Remote Touch controller. This makes the car take a snapshot of itself in the moment, and they can download the data for diagnosis.
