Congrats on your new ride btw! You're in for a really big treat sir. Luxury package is definitely the way to go. How are you liking that bamboo?
The list of mods that I have done are in my signature, but here is a short list for you:
- XPEL Ultimate Clear Bra (Partial & Headlights/Fogs)
- Diode Dynamics SMD12 LED Truck Light
- Morimoto XB (Type T) LED Fog Lights
- Beat-Sonic BB6223 NAV/DVD Bypass Module
- Escort 9500ix Radar BlendMount + MirrorTap
- Coming up shortly - the best tint on the market, Spectra PhotoSync!
All of my mods are done to only improve on little things here & there. I like to keep my cars fairly stock - nothing that affects that way it drives or performs basically.
Since you mentioned hube, he's another hybrid owner that has done some very classy mods (imho). I like his style. You can check out this build/mod topic here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...h-f-sport.html

Thanks It seems like you're still enjoying that ride of yours!
Those mods you did are a must in any warm region, I think. Especially the clear bra and the darkened windows. Here it normally doesn't get very hot for long times and the rain keeps most of the dust and sand down and away.
The trunk light makes a big difference?

Yes my buddy hube! Totally. One of the first mods that I did early on & so thankful for it. The OEM trunk light is painfully weak.
Basically you're just changing the light out so it takes less than 10 minutes and is worth the $15 it cost.
Totally think you should consider it for your vehicle.

So I haven't posted pictures of my ride since I purchased it. I have a list of small improvements or "mods" that I have done in my signature if anyone is curious.
Posting some pictures of a few things that I had done professionally.

How did they deal with the area for your registration and inspection stickers on your front windshield?

All my other stickers were removed and then placed over the tint after application.
Hope this helps,

Great question! In TX, only the registration is required by the state to be directly stuck to the windshield (without anything in between). So for that, they cut a small box in the lower left hand corner of the film (hardly noticeable).
All my other stickers were removed and then placed over the tint after application.
Hope this helps,

(I took my inspection sticker off my windshield back in March when the law changed and only the registration sticker was required. And, when the time came that it was within 90 days of my registration expiring I got my car inspected and renewed my registration. I really like having just the one combination sticker on the windshield. Being a rather picky person, there are no longer any sticker alignment issues, someone else removing the old sticker and adhesive with a razor blade, and then applying the new sticker where they want it with their dirty hands and clothes. Now I can remove, clean and apply the one sticker myself exactly where I want it...)
If you care to do so, you can get your car inspected and obtain a new registration sticker in early October, within 90 days of your current registration expiring on December 31st. Even though you get it early it will not expire until one year from your old registration expiration, or 12-2016.
I doubt seriously your windshield film would ever be noticed...except for that box cut out for your registration sticker. That said, your registration sticker (which has minimal adhesive properties, unlike the inspection sticker) could be placed directly on top of the windshield film and no one would notice or even care. Then, a small box doesn't have to be cut out of the film, which is going to be far more noticeable to police/troopers than if the registration sticker is placed directly on top of the film with no box cut out that draws your (and the police/trooper's) attention.
As it is now, you are complying with the Texas state law by having the registration sticker directly stuck to the windshield (without anything in between), yet you are not complying with the state's law by having window film (if it has any tint) applied below the AS-1 line. I say, might as well break the state law on both issues and have it look good, and for both issues to be far less noticeable to police/troopers.
