Default 2013 GS F-Sport Unlock/Passenger Window Noise

Hi All,

1. Didn't noticed the loud unlocking sound til after sign the purchase agreement.

When unlocking the car, I can hear pretty loud unlocking noise came from the rear by the Gas cap area. It's pretty weird to hear such a loud unlocking noise on a $57K car.

2. Passenger window made a loud pop noise when I tried to roll down. Didn't try to roll it down before purchase.

Does your car have the same issues?

Thanks

note: Will take in for check up in a week.

Congrats on the new car! The loud noise you hear around the gas door is the locking mechanism for the door as it locks and unlocks. Not too sure about the window though...

Yes, mine makes that loud unlocking sound by the fuel cap too and that is normal.

As for the popping when rolling ur window down, it is due to ur window sticking to the rubber weather stripping. Normally this happens after a car wash and rain and the window hasn't been opened in a while. Clean ur window and the rubber stripping and apply some interior cleaner and it'll act as a lubrication that'll prevent sticking.

The noise you hear when locking/unlocking the car is from the sound of the mechanically movable action from the electrically activated solenoid/activator at each location. Something has to mechanically move in order to lock and unlock the doors. That's the noise you hear. I have never heard of a car that had quiet door locks.

As ItzFilyO said, the pop sound you hear when opening a window is almost certainly caused by the window having not been opened (lowered) recently and the upper portion of the window's glass gets somewhat sealed (stuck) to the window's rubber weather seal because of weather induced contaminants. As the bond of the glass breaks-away from the rubber seal it can often make a pop sound. Just clean the top of the glass and the weather seal. Some people apply something like a thin film of silicone lubricant so the glass won't stick to the rubber weather seal material.

Hi All,

thank you for your quick respond.

Wow..didnt know the locking/unclocking can be thats loud.

As for the windows loud noise when rolling down. it's only happen to 1 window since the day after we take it home. Nothing wrong with others windows. But i will give that fix a try and see.

thanks

Does your GS feel like is not steady when on freeway at high speed? I mean, its doesnt feel like it hugging the road as much as my 05 Acura RL.

Granted.. under S+. Suspension are tighter but u feel almost every bump on the road.

Dont get me wrong... We love the GS. Just the ride is not as smooth as my wife (OLD) 2001 GS.

I don't know what you consider 'high speed', but for a performance mid-size sedan it is very stable and solid on the highway at speeds well over the triple digit mark...in my opinion. And it holds its own on twisty roads too...for what the car is.

On mine, the faster I go the more solid it feels, especially in Sport+ mode. I can cruise at 100 and it still feels like only going 60.
