Maybe leaving for the Dark Side

Where I live, we only have domestic vehicles, plus Toyota and Kia. The S5 was my first foreign love affair. It was my first car, a 2008. I was young and dumb and totaled it. I have missed that damn car like crazy everyday since then. It didn't go over so well with my parents so I got a used beater of a truck. Which was more than generous of them, after all. My next vehicles I paid for on my own and never have been able to venture back to an Audi with my own pocketbook.. Needless to say, I'm jelly.
Anyways, hate to see you go but I think we all understand

Love the exterior looks of the Audi S5 (though I prefer the coupe over the cabriolet). Anyway, Audi's are fun to own as long as you're under warranty.
Good luck. You've contributions to the forum cannot be overlooked. Please pop your head in on occasion & definitely post pics of your new beauty if the trade in deal works out.

What color are you considering? There's a black A5 in my block. Not sure how it looks/feels inside and compared to S5 but I always like looking at the car when I get into the neighborhood. IMO the design is not overwhelming but attractive, kind of like the 4GS. I was carpooling with wife this morning on a slow freeway. Saw a black 4GS a few lanes out and cars ahead of us with some German cars around. I'm probably biased but I must say it looks really nice from that angle.
It's interesting you said it... I was considering a replacement for my 4GS and one of things came across was I would no longer "belong" to this sub forum. We indeed have a great group here. Hope it works out for you and don't forget to post "S5 vs. GS350 F Sport" or "I should have stayed with Lexus"

Well not really. Just depends what you are into. The new challenger and corvette are very refined and are have state of the art technology. American vehicles get a bad wrap, but the new ones are all amazing, futuristic, and of course super fast. I love my Challenger, it is so smooth and has an awesome suspension and the U Connect infotaiment / nav is very intuitive and appealing. I have V6, V8 and V10 cars, and the V8 is the best engine for everyday use. The S5 is a V8 sports car, it is not as docile as the A5 obviously. I just wanted to show how much hp and technology you can get for around the same price, something to consider thats all.

correction the new 2015 Audi S5 has a turbo V6, wow did not know that. They always came with V8s, same with the S4. So im guessing the S4 and S5 probably have the same engine. Nevermind, i retract my considerations of the V8s.

Thanks for all the great input and support, guys! You bet I will still hang around here. I posted in the S5 forum in Audiworld before I posted here to ask opinions on the color and have not received ONE response. I realize the car has a more limited ownership, but the other threads are active. Compare that with the number of responses I've received on CL. Maybe because the color is new for 2015.
It looks like the deal is done. The color is called Florett Silver. The interior is Black Nappa leather. Following is a pic from inside the dealership and one that is posted online. It is a silver with a lot of depth and a blueish tint. It actually reminds me of one of the silvers on the 1st gen SC. I'm not straying far from Liquid Platinum.

Sweet I see you already made the deal, thats a nice color, congrats. I wanted to share my personal favorite setup on the Audi S5 which is the Monsoon Gray Metallic with a dark red / black interior. Some options that i would include would be the Bang & Olusen sound system and the High Gloss Black package which adds the 19 inch 5 spoke wheels with 255/35/19 tires and a black mesh grille. I think the black will accent this color perfectly.

It sure is a nice car. Black or dark colors would make it look even better but knowing you and having owned a black GS, I don't blame you. In case you have not followed Syd lately, I would recommend Gtechniq C2V3 for your new paint. Easy to do and works like a charm.

It's a supercharged V6. The S5 has had it since 2013. Audi calls it a 3.0T

I like the Audis how they look, especially S and RS versions. But I never wanted to own one. I visited Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart and also BMW Welt in Munich. You can feel there the car industry history. When I was in Ingolstadt where is the Audi from, I parked next to the building and my feelings were... just like the museum building, nice architecture, solid, but without soul. Like the bigger dealership. I changed my mind and not visited the Audi Forum. Same feeling I am having with their cars. Good products but that's it... Simply not working on me.

Congrats on your Audi, I'm considering buying a nice ride for the wifey (she's stuck with the minivan) and an Audi has come up often.
Hopefully, the big bonus check and promotion/raise come soon.
