Absolutely! Like I said, I'd offer 27500 and tell them you want them to include the warranty. When you go to look at it don't act overly excited and be prepared to walk away so you can "think about it" if they won't come down to your price. You can always go back later and renegotiate if they don't. I work in the car business. Trust me, you can always come up some on the price you offer but they aren't gonna just give you their bottom dollar without thinking you'll walk away. They want you to buy that car right there, right now.

The car you are considering is being offered for sale at Black Book 'Rough Condition' trade-in price, so I suspect they did not give the previous owner more than $25k~$26k for it as trade-in. I suspect they would gladly sell it at $27,500, which is a $3,400 discount just so they can turn a profit. And if they can also finance the car, or sell you an extended warranty or a wheels/ding insurance policy, or anything else in which they will make a profit - they will be even that much more anxious to sell you that car.

Try knock off $5000 first. The worst thing they can say is no, or counter offer u, then go from there.

Either way you word it make sure you get a warranty. And a good one at that! Make sure it covers emissions, airbags, etc. Some "good" warranties cover a lot but omit things like that from coverage.

I stopped by the dealership again today and saw the car on the lift and everything underneath looked normal, no leaks or anything out of the ordinary. I offered $27,500 for it, they didn't accept and gave me the business about how much they marked it down already etc. I thanked them for their time and told them if they would reconsider or get me in the ball park to get in touch with me.

Good move!
Don't go there or call them.I do believe that GS will be there for awhile.
They will probably come back with a number like $30K and say no.
You have to get AT LEAST $2500 off or walk.

I'll sit tight, plus I noticed one of the wheels had pretty bad curb rash and another one had some scuffs too. Also the lowest portion of the front bumper was slightly cracked, probably a 1 inch by one inch area, like someone drove too close to a curb or parking block

These cars aren't Corollas and they don't sell like peanuts. It'll be there for a while.

You can get something off that $36K too.

Much better choice over the one you were looking at.
You can buy a discounted Lexus Platinum extended warranty from Toby Rivers with that mileage too.
