Is this a good deal? Getting it today

Guys thank you so much....
Unfortunately, I called right before I headed to the dealership and asked them to pull out the carfax and that has an accident reported on it...
That makes me very hesitant to proceed with the purchase. I like the sales guy who is very nice and upfront but this is my first purchase and for this kind of money I want to get a clean title...

In my opinion, this Lexus dealer never should have even considered selling that non-CPO car that had been involved in an accident from their dealership's lot. The dealer should have auctioned that car off, and let a non-affiliated independent used car lot sell it. And, 'if' the Lexus dealer ever does elect to sell such a car from their dealership's lot (which they should not do in my opinion) I think they should always reveal up-front that the car was involved in an accident and failed the Lexus CPO criteria.
Personally, I would tell the salesperson, as well as the sales manager, (and likely the dealership's owner) that I was extremely disappointed in their business practices and lack of the ethics people expect of Lexus...and, that I personally expected more from a Lexus dealership. Further, I will not be purchasing any vehicle from them...and I will be telling my family members, neighbors, friends, acquaintances, and business associates about what happened - and I will also be making my views clear to Lexus North America . They would know how I felt, and they would remember it!
That's my view on the matter, and how I would handle it...as I understand things.

I think it really depends on the magnitude of the accident.... I have had cars in the body shop a number of times for body repairs in the $500-$3000 range, depending on the nature of the incident. Those are not a big deal, and if repaired correctly, the car is fine. See if you can find out more about the accident.

That's why it was a guess. The listed mileage is 8k but it could have 10k miles now if it's been listed long enough. The one I'm talking about at bridgewater is listed for $38k, which is pretty close to what the OP was gonna pay too. This is all my guess though.

Well, unless the OP tells us which car it is, we cannot help him. I had the previous owner's name and contact information for the Nebula Gray car at Bay Ridge Lexus, so he could contact him to see what the accident/damage entailed.

the car can't be certified for a reason -- even lexus is not confident enough in the car. so why would you want to put 30+ grands in for all the risks?
