No one wants the Luxury Package?

I did say that, and it's my opinion, however uninformed I know the LS is a huge leap, basically the price of another car on top of the GS sticker, and I know a guy who owns both. The GS is his daily and the LS is his touring car/taking execs to lunch car. He paid cash for both. I think he has been in the energy business for a while.

I have a Luxury GS and have been driving the LS460 for a few days now trying to see if this is a right next car for me. I can tell you LS is not for everyone interested in luxury. More luxurious than the GS overall for sure, but there are things from the GS that the LS lacks. I look forward to hearing Steve's thoughts/review about his new LS in caparison to the GS.
Thats absolutely true, there are some drawbacks vs the GS. The GS has better seating, the LS doesn't have the 18 way adjustable seats that you can get on the GS luxury. Thats probably the thing I miss. It also doesn't feel nearly as zippy as the GS from a throttle perspective. For a car that is much more powerful and a V8, its a little lazy off the line or when trying to zip out to move into traffic. Moreso than my Dad's 98 or 04 LS's, it must be the 8 speed transmission. I felt the same way about the 8 speed in the Jeep. Overall though, for what I want out of a car the LS is superior in every way. Its a LOT more money though.
I'd be interested to hear what all you feel it lacks.

That's consistent with what I assume to be true for Dallas. Texas is a huge market for Lexus and most people want them loaded, so ML + HUD isn't a strange combo here.
