A new battery will buy some time and hide the symptoms if there is a short somewhere. Have to keep an eye on the car.

I don't drive my car everyday and this winter on two occasions I let it sit outside in negative temps for 10 days each time while I was out of town. Car always started right up. There was one day though when wind chills were about -30 when the starter was really struggling to crank the engine over. But it did fire right up.
