Leather seems different
Hi, my GS has about 4k miles and I am noticing that some leather on the passenger side is smooth and some of it is rough and looks like it's dry and cracking.
I regularly wipe clean with water and use lexol conditioner, what's going on here?
Thanks in advance.

Leather is a natural product, and variation from piece to piece is typical. I wouldn't worry about it.

The leather is breaking in and stretching. It looks very normal to me.

I think Lexus does a terrible job with the leather they use on the vehicles. This is my third Lexus in the last 3 years. On my 2015 GS 350 with less than 4K miles I find the leather not soft at all compared to the 2015 ES 350 which has much softer leather. I also found the lower back part of the seat uncomfortable. I am always adjusting the seat each time I drive the car and cannot find a good position. On the other hand I find the 2015 ES 350 which I drive as a loaner when servicing my car more adjustable and more comfortable. You figured they would have better seats/comfort on a GS 350. I did report this on the Lexus survey which I just completed today.
On my 2011 RX 350 the leather was starting to crack and the same with my 2012 ES 350. I've seen used Lexus vehicles at the dealership where the cracks just start becoming larger and the leather pretty much falls apart.

What trim level GS do you have? My luxury model GS had the best leather I've personally ever had in a car, very thick and soft and high quality, and the 18 way adjustable front seats were incredible comfortable. The leather and seats were better than those in my new LS460.
If you have a GS without the semi-aniline leather seats and compare them to an ES350 with that leather the ES will have better leather, but outside of that I can't agree. One of my business partners has a 2015 GS350 F Sport with the regular leather, and even that I feel is very good quality...

Yeah I find my leather to be very decent. One thing I love about it, it's not all shiny and cheap looking like in the ES and RX. It also doesn't/won't crack and wear like it does in the ES and RX.
I'm satisfied with the appearance and texture of the Cabernet in my F Sport.

Even my ES, my 2010 ES' leather was in good shape when I traded it with 45k on it.

Leather on older cars will begin to crack if not properly maintained; that's normal for any car with leather.

Thanks everyone!
I'm not used to this much wear,
this early. I always so Lexus leather and was always shocked how shiny and crack many become. I had a 06 330i that showed no wear and a still have a 00 e class with less wear.
Anyways thank you everyone for your input. I'm being overly OCD.

I personally don't see any wear in your pictures...

Its the opposite. The main seat pieces are leather while the outside pieces are synthetic.
