Trunk - is there a key cylinder cover?
On the 4th Gen GS 350s, I'm not sure if it had a cover or intended to be left as-is with the key cylinder open?
I never noticed it until I read the manual to learn more and the trunk seems to have an indent groove where something should cover it?
Any insight and pictures (parts number) would be great!
Thanks all!

My trunk's key cylinder is just a small indented slot that has some black grease covering the round opening.

I don't anticipate ever using it to open the trunk but all that build up just looks nasty.

Thanks for the verification! That's exactly what mine looks like and I thought the grease was dirt build up from driving. It be a smart piece to insert if we can cover that slot up.

Mine is like that too and I cleaned the grease and also the one on the door handle.

I cleaned the one on the outside like in that pic. That isn't grease anymore it's thick dirt and my lock still works.

Your car has lost 32 hp, 27 ft-lb torque, 6 mpg and will now use 1 qt of oil every 500 miles.

U know it actually feels faster now that it's clean. I think it gives better airflow without the dirt and better fuel economy.

I had really even forgot it was there, never once used it, I'm guessing that groove is there to help you find it by feel. Oh yeah, and washing away that grease just voided your entire warranty.
