Windshield cracked..need some advice

My crack is identical to yours, only difference is there wasn't a single car near me for at least 50-100 feet...not sure how mine happened.
So if I go through my insurance company with the deductible only, does it matter or affect anything if I go via LEXUS which costs almost $2100 to replace or if I go with say an aftermarket windshield that costs like $800?
Does my insurance go up or anything due to the $1300 difference? If not, why don't people just go OEM if the insurance company is paying for it?

Because insurance companies don't like to use OEM glass. You have to fight with them...some people can and some can't.

I havne't replaced mine yet either. Really annoyed about it which is what makes me not want to change it.
