Lexus is definitely pushing the boundries on appearance..I personally think they are making great strides in all classes. I for one love the current GS and I'm sure the new model would grow on me. Just wish there were more options to increase HP, or at least give us more engine options
For the past couple of weeks I was wondering what if the refresh killed the 15? I would end up with an outdated model for a few years.
As much as I like my 15, I think this looks pretty good in pictures. A bit too much at first but after looking it a bit more, it's actually not bad. Definitely resembling the Camry but it does have some extra juice for its kind. I'm sure with the F Sports grille it will look better. On the other hand this may be a bit too much for Luxury crowd to accept IMO. The new navi, cluster and new colors are definitely pluses.
I get what they were trying to accomplish with the redesign, but the front is way too busy.
Did they really need to link the side vent to the headlight? And the bottom of the front bumper has a lot of different curves and shapes. Overall these details make the front look really disjointed and just a mess.
And the taillights look like cheap aftermarket crap.
The interior on the other hand, is absolutely beautiful and the new gauges are sweet.
Any pics of the F sport?
My 15 GS looks nicer than this wth is up with the front.
Kinda has an IS look to it. They need to slap a turbo on the 3.5 V6 !
Also, just realized the fog lights look like the ones on the new camrys with straight down LED lights.
ugly ugly
surprised at the update. the more and more i spend time in the 5 and compare and contrast looks, engineering with motor and tranny, and innovative tech 3 or four years ago i see why toyota/lexus will never beat the germans.
they had four years to watch what the germans did in 2012 and the best they can do was 33mpg highway and 7.2 0-60
embrarrasing, i am getting which i can validate at 70mph with cruise on 39 mpg highway, tranny perfect without a hiccup in all modes and a look that i can live with.. i was at bmw last week picking up a license plate bracket for front and a guy with a 15 f sport came in to trade after 3 months wants a 535. his exact words gs is a good car but nothing like the bmw.
i am lexus lover beyond words, i just think the way the germans with the new s class, the new c,
the new 7, the older 5 the new e coming out and the new 5 coming out have a maturity about the look with a design that is just more in line to what consumers want. a sophisticated, efficient, technology laden performance/luxury automobile...
shame on lexus
I kinda like it, I'm really interested to see what the the F-Sport will look like. However I don't like the interior I think now compared to before it looks tacky or more ES than GS.

Could not have said it better myself and I get where you are coming from as I also have a 335i and was driving a CL63 until last year. Lexus have zero excuse not to compete as they are not lacking in funds or engineering skills plus the German three define the segments they compete in, even on Toyota's own doorstep in Japan.
It can't be too hard to buy a few German cars, improve on what they offer or at the least offer similar in terms or power & tech, and then give it a Japanese interpretation of luxury and power. It's those sexy AMG, M's and RS's that sell the thousands of more mundane BMW's Audi's and Mercedes that litter the roads here in the UK as the halo models create desire and aspiration.
