Painted Calipers: Red or Black?

@dchar & SSTG – You guys hit the nail on the head with both your points and that’s why I’ve been going back and forth. I do plan on taking everything apart to do a thorough job but the small rear calipers keep bugging me and that’s tilting me towards black. Interesting that the RC-F has black calipers with Lexus written while the GS-F seems to have orange calipers with F written
@vinnier6 & MEAHT – I’m on the same page as you guys
@96SC4 – I’m lowered on Tanabe NF210’s with spacers (15mm front / 20 mm rear). I like the lowered look much better and grateful for the input that fellow GS owners gave from the threads in the Suspension forum
@akuma88 – That’s too bold for me but if you do go with it, share some pics with us
@ItzFilyO & Punish3r – Both of your painted calipers look excellent and thanks for sharing some pics! Out of curiosity, do you have any shots of the full car including the rears? Punish3r, get that ride dropped

Could you share more info on where you bough the color kit from and what the color is. Nice decals too! How much does your friend charge for them if I wanted to buy some? Did you apply a clear coat on top of it as well?

I vote Red. I just had my calipers painted red by a local wheel shop while I was having my out of round OEM wheels straightened.
They charged me $50 a caliper ($200 total) to do it with the same G2 type paint, but they came out great and I didn't have to spend my own personal time to do this. My car is white, now with red-painted calipers.
Its adds a subtle touch - to me the black wouldn't really show much different. Depends on what you're going for: if you're looking for an understated, refined look go with the black caliper.
If you're looking for a bit more sporty, more pop go with the red. I considered orange (like the new '16 GS F) and blue (like the current big brake kit) but didn't want to look like a poser (although the red might still make me look like a poser since a lot of brembo kits come red!)

Should I remove the caliper and paint the entire caliper? Or should I cover everything with paper and spray them on the car? Looks like another mod in the next few weeks!
