CPO Pricing
#61
I forgot to add, I found the pricing interesting. I actually thought the listed price was quite fair, and seemed lower than some other dealerships. I was at Newport Lexus. The sales guy I was working with told me, especially for used vehicles, they were going to more of a "no-haggle" pricing model. Still wiggle room, but less than expected. He said people tire of the usual negotiating and just want to get in and get out. Putting competitive prices that seem fair upfront actually helps them move more volume (apparently). I took this with a grain of salt of course, but their used car inventory seemed more reasonably priced than other dealers in my area....by several thousand in many cases.

Actually your salesperson was right about Lexus going to no-haggle sales program. Many Lexus dealerships have already begun moving toward that standard. The concept will begin with all Lexus dealerships in 2016.

Enjoy the car! Nice color combo...

Will be interesting...my dealer does little more than they have to...until you negotiate...and then they are a long way from any Lexus competition so they are difficult to get near some of the pricing seen here in multiple dealer markets.

How is "no-haggle" going to work at year-end? Within the last month several people on this forum have reported as much as $12K off MSRP on 2015 F Sports. Is Lexus going to roll all of their year-end incentives into revised "no-haggle" prices? I seriously doubt it. I also doubt dealers are going to be thrilled with the idea.
Incidentally, polls show that about 40% of Americans do not realize new car prices are negotiable.

I'm not sure the no-haggle model applies as much to new inventory. The sales guy specifically mentioned CPO/preowned pricing. Otherwise you bring up a very good point.
And ultimately, everything is still negotiable.

I bought my preowned gs350 from a lexus dealer, and they have no haggle pricing. However I felt some of the cars were overpriced. Mine sat there for about 2 months and 2 price drops. The second price drop was literally 4000 less than the initial no haggle price. I bought it the first day price was dropped and a guy was waiting at the dealership to see if I would indeed close the deal. So no haggle pricing is not necessarily their best deal.

it was an smoking deal.. all the bay area dealers are asking high $30k's and into the low $40k's for an 2013 thats with less option then mine..
I got it with liquid platinum with Cabernet interior..
on top of that, it came with the $4k oem forged wheels.. the 19-IN FULL-FACE FORGED ALLOY WHEELS..
The dealer I went through is Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys.

Just picked up what I'm pretty sure was a price mistake in FL. 13 GS 350, Parking assist, A/C-Heated Seats as options, L-Certified 100/3year, 1 owner, fire agate pearl/black interior, high miles at 68K, for 24K asking price from Lexus dealer website. I didn't negotiate any as I didn't want them to look at the numbers closely.
