Default Almost at 40K, thinking of changing the rotors.

My fronts were resurfaced at 15K. I don't think I want to keep them past 40K.

Any AWD owners here have aftermarket rotors on their cars? Can you recommend a good brand?

or should I just stick with OEM?

If i had to choose, because of sites like HouseOfLexus.com, MyLParts.com, and Carson Toyota parts online, i'd try to find the lowest price from dealers around the country and get OEM rotors.

Centric would be my recommendation for quality aftermarket rotors. My uncle has his own mechanic shop and stands by Centric rotors since he has installed them on many cars with customers being very satisfied.

Is there something wrong with them? Do you drive very aggressively? If they are fine - why change them?

I do drive somewhat aggressive. I don't get any shaking / vibrations when I brake, but they do have tons of scratches, some are very deep.

Ew, I hear stories about those NY - East Coast streets and what they do to your cars. Besides the salt - rust issues.

Because carcinogenic asbestos brake pads are now banned, we end up using semi-metallic pads which actually wear out the rotors faster.

I'm too lazy, but if you read the Lexus Workshop Manual, there is a recommended thickness for the rotors of something like 30 +/-1 mm or something like that.

Thus we can only machine the rotors so much, until we must actually replace them.

Rotors that are too thin can warp with heat build up.
