I have been wondering how strong our engines were built. I found some info and wanted to see if people agreed or had more information on the subject.

If what I read is correct, engine has :
* 4 bolt main
* Forged crank
* Forged piston rods
* No mention of forged pistons
* Steel timing chains and gears
* Roller rockers

Would you agree with the above ?

Without knowing the source of your info the only thing I would assume is true is that it has cast pistons.
Cast pistons are quieter in operation due to the tighter cylinder clearance specs.
I also assume the forged parts are not traditionally steel forged, but powdered metal forged.
Any chance what you saw was about the V-8 engine?

I am going to try and find the info again, it was not talking about a V-8. I will post it if I find again.
