I've always used Castrol synthetic for my cars before this one. Used to use Mobile 1, but after their got cheap and changed up their formula so it's not true full synthetic I haven't touched their oil since.

Filters I've always just stayed away from FRAM, but everything else should be fair game?

oh also is it still 6.5 quarts?

Thanks!
Just did 1st oil change on my 2015 @ 3,700 miles to get the 0w20 water out of it. Installed the same Wix filter & Castrol Syntec 5W-30 I have been using every 5,000 miles in my 2007 IS350 for 95,k miles (IS350 is for sale in classified forum) 6.6 qts is the max capacity for 2wd GS350 but it's impossible to drain ALL the old oil. I jack up the drivers side higher to get maximum oil drainage from pan & filter housing. Then add 5qts., lower car to level ground & wait for oil to drain down to pan (5 minutes), check level with dipstick, add slowly DO NOT overfill there is no need to get it perfectly @ full line, my IS350 never used any oil during 5,000 mile interval & assuming the GS does the same I will just refill 6qts. in it.
The 10,k mile oil change interval & 0w-20 oil is all for the enviroment & fuel economy not aiding engines.

I'm not 100% sure, but BITOG may have done some performance testing or have a reasonable explaination on why it won't be a good idea to keep using 5w-20 as opposed to 0w20

Hmm.. wouldn't it be cheaper overall though since you're waiting until 10k to do the oil change. Also better fuel economy is never a bad thing too.

I use mobil 1 0w-20 extended performance oil with OEM toyota oil filter.
If someone can give me the part # for the oem toyota filter I would appreciate it, i lost the box and forgot the part #.
For the 2015 GS.

For the 2015 GS.

Do you think it'd be cheaper to buy it in bulk online or to just get it from a Toyota dealership?

If I were looking for cheaper instead of better I would not own a GS-F

Oil needs to be changed annually regardless of mileage also.

I'm not sure if it would be technically better. Seems like a debatable topic. The line is pretty thin and also buying those 5 quart jugs if Castrol Syntec at Wally World are pretty cheap. Been living off of those for my older car since I got it.
