USB for Music
Hi guys new to the forums. I just picked up a 2013 GS F Sport a two weeks ago and I'm loving it! The only problem I ran into so far is when I'm using the USB port for music. I'm pretty OCD about how I organize music on my computer so everything is already cleaned up and put in separate folders for albums. But the problem is I erased some folders on my USB stick and for some reason it still shows when I plug it into my car. So it'll just scan through an empty folder before switching to the next folder. Is there any way I can fix that? I've already formatted my USB and put all my music back in but it still does that. Any help would be appreciated.

Using a Mac? Finder screwed it up.
OSX moves deleted items to a .Trashes/ folder, which remains indexed by the car's audio system. Also, "deleted" files are simply prepended with a dot to hide them, which can also be indexed by the car (but not actually play, which creates a really annoying 1 second gap between every song). Manually delete that folder, and any other dot files from your drive to fix this. Easiest is from the command line, after closing Finder.

You bet! It annoyed the heck out of me too.
FWIW, scrap USB anyways; USB audio is MP3 only, max bitrate of 320kps. Use an iPod instead, it supports lossless audio (via Apple's ALAC codec). Supports 16bit and 24 bit tracks up to 44kHz (translated: CD and DVD quality audio instead) If you don't have one lying around already, buy a "broken" one off eBay. I bought a 160GB with a water damaged screen and front controls that didn't work for $40. Plug it into the car and you need neither anyways. Amazing sound difference!

I too use an old 160 gig ipod (with a HD in it still), problem is there are 1000's of songs on it that are no longer in itunes on my computer. So I don't think I can add or change anything without losing what I already have on it, thanks to the way Apple software works
I was thinking of buying an inexpensive Android device with SD slot to get around the Apples BS, but haven't gotten around to researching it yet.

I'm pretty sure my USB port plays .WMA lossless files

It will allow you to rip anything from an iPod to another device.
