Lightbulb Reminder - Turn Off DST for your NAV system

Daylight Saving Time ends tonight so everyone that has been on DST will be resetting (fall back one hour) their watches and clocks. One thing that my Lexus GS 350 friends need to do is turn 'Off' the 'Daylight Saving Time' for their NAV system. Otherwise their destination 'Time Of Arrival' when using the NAV system will be incorrect by an hour.

Menu > Setup > General > System Time > Daylight Saving Time: Select 'Off' & Select 'Save'

I thought the newer models should change on its own no? I know my 10 GS I have to do it manually. Not sure about my 15GS I guess I'll find out tomorrow

You won't know until you enter a nearby destination that you already know how long it will take to arrive. It would be quicker (and easier) to use the Menu to find out, which takes all of 15 seconds.

Menu > Setup > General > System Time > Daylight Saving Time: Select 'Off' & Select 'Save'

I just got my car yesterday. I wouldn't have known to do this otherwise. Thanks!

You are very welcome. Many (probably most) people don't.

Enjoy your new car! Be careful...

Yeah, who would think that you have to change not one, but two clocks! My Audi and even my BMW motorcycle I didn't have to change anything. I went out in the garage this morning and they had changed the time themselves.

Thanks for the heads up bc

Yeah, you bet. I agree, you'd think Daylight Saving Time would be automatically controlled via the car's satellite navigation system.

Even the 2015s need to do it.

I wish we didn't have to change time...just stay in DST!

I am appalled, my 2007 Acura and the aftermarket nav in my 03 acura rsx did this fine, there is even a setting in the time menu that would imply an auto setting!

Mine does it automatically BUT i thought the analog clock would have changed? So I had to push the buttons but only wasted 10sec of my life

You are not being clear in saying; "mine does it automatically...".

What is 'mine'? A Lexus GS 350 NAV system? If so, what model year?

What does 'it' do automatically? Adjust automatically to Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time?

There is an option to have time automatically update via Nav. So when I started my car, it shows 5:09PM but the analog clock was 6:09PM
